Lagu ini banyak dipakai dalam beberapa filem seri, demikian juga dinyanyikan american idol, menjadikan ketertarikan untuk mendalami liriknya.
Penciptanya ternyata seorang Jahudi (BUKAN KRISTEN), dan memunculkan fakta, ternyata HALLELUJAH berasal dari akar budaya Jahudi bukan kristen, spt yg saya pahami selama ini.
Makna hakiki Halleluja ternyata tidak sekedar 'puji tuhan' / praise the lord. Tapi: pujian sukacita dalam lagu bagi 'XXX'. XXX adalah nama ganti pribadi dari Allah, yang pantang disebutkan secara umum dlm tradisi Jahudi, yang nggak habis2nya diperdebatkan.
Makna liriknya ternyata bisa ditafsirkan bermacam-macam, dari sekedar hubungan laki perempuan (Daud vs Batseba, Samson vs Delila), sekedar seks, hubungan kasih sesama, sampai ke humanity dan divinity.
Bagi petarung apologetika, halleluja bisa berarti:

- every breath we drew was Hallelujah
